Ok Here's The Deal

Introduction
I was going to match this blog up completely with my betting bank, but as I've got an odd number of points in it then it wouldn't quite work.

So the plan is to dispense with that idea and just keep a running track of points each month (same thing really when I think about it!)

In general all of my bets are between 1 and 5 points, however on a very rare occasion if I am supremely confident I may have more on, although never more than 10 points. I would be surprised if you see a bet of more than 5 points every couple of months.

So, what are points?
Points are a very simple way of keeping track of your bets without quoting an amount. A point for someone may be £1, £10, £50, £100 or more, it really depends on that person. I always like to work with a betting bank of 300 points or more, however this season circumstances have dictated I have started with a bank of 100 points.

My first goal is to get my bank to 300 points (it currently stands at 172.73) - then with every subsequent 150 point increase I drop back to 300 points and increase my stake so now 1 point is the equivalent of 1.5 points.

Targets
The simple target is a 20% increase on bank each month until I get to 300 points... then I'll reassess.

That means with the current bank standing at 172.73 points the November target is a 34.55 point profit.

Commission
All bets on Betfair are charged commission as you bet against other people, not the company. For the sake of ease in this blog all bets will be deducted the standard 5% commission, at the end of each month points will be added onto the total due to commission discounts.

Episode I - A New Blog

For those who know me through my 10-10k blog, hello again... and welcome to my new blog. Out with the old 10-10k and in with the new... a proper betting blog. The 10-10k was a bit of fun, but now the serious work begins.

I will endeavour to publish all of my bets before hand but at times, for example when trading in running on a football match, this may not be possible. In that case I will try to update as soon as possible.

All these bets will be bets I place as I personally aim to achieve my goals (more on that later) - I'll hopefully win, I may lose, but hopefully through careful selection and strategy I will achieve what I set out to.
